Chucklefish has pushed back the release of its game, *Witchbrook*, until next year. They want to make sure the game world feels detailed, engaging, and truly lively before it launches.
The game’s release has been pushed back, but a new blog post has been published featuring an interactive map of the game’s setting, Mossport. Witchbrook is now scheduled to launch in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam.

Hey everyone,
We’re sharing an update on Witchbrook. While development has been going well, we’ve decided to delay the launch from Winter 2025 to sometime next year. This was a tough decision, but we believe it’s the right one.
We’re making great progress on Witchbrook! It’s developing beautifully, with all the charm, detail, and depth we envisioned. As we mentioned in our first blog post, we’re focused on building a truly immersive and lively world, and we’re taking the time to make sure it feels that way.

We haven’t shared much about how big the game world will be, but today we’re excited to show you a first look at the map of Mossport! This map gives you an idea of the vast area you’ll be able to explore. We’re also busy creating a world filled with interesting stories, quests, and magical systems to make your time at Witchbrook College truly special.

Mossport offers a wealth of natural beauty and varied landscapes. You can explore the tranquil trails of Shadhollow Forest, with its hidden paths and age-old mysteries, or relax on the golden beaches of Parasol Sands and enjoy the fresh sea air.
Mossport’s high street is the vibrant center of the city, frequently hosting festivals and markets where you can shop, taste local treats, and meet welcoming people. Nearby, the Student Village is a lively and energetic area beneath the impressive Witchbrook College, home to a community of young witches.
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, Shadbrook Cottage and its lush garden provide a relaxing place to unwind and recharge. Nearby, you’ll find quiet farmland and a hidden spot for fishing in the river. The property is designed to feel cozy and inviting, with everything flowing together naturally, making it a wonderful place to explore and enjoy.
What’s Next?
Because we’ve extended the development process, we’re now able to pursue some unexpected and exciting possibilities, like adding support for more platforms and languages! We’ll share more specifics as soon as we’re ready.
We wanted to give you a sense of how big and diverse Witchbrook will be when the game comes out next year! We’ll be posting more updates before the end of the year, including a blog post about character customization coming in the next few weeks.
