In late 2024 and early 2025, during a period known as “rostermania” within the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports community, Team Falcons’ star-studded lineup featuring legendary rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, the core from HEROIC, and four-time Major Championship winner Emil “Magisk” Reif captured the spotlight.
In the initial major competition, the BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1 Stage 1, Team Falcons failed to meet their anticipated performance. Although they managed to defeat ENCE 2-0, with the matches being relatively tight, Team Falcons subsequently faced a more challenging opponent, where their results did not quite live up to their usual standard.
If you missed the game, Eternal Fire‘s selection of maps worked favorably for them. On the initial map, Inferno, they took a substantial lead over their Turkish opponents early on, leading 8-4 at halftime, and eventually won the match decisively with a score of 13-6.
In a tight call on the Nuke map during BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1, Team Falcons held a slim 7-5 advantage in the first half. However, Eternal Fire took control on the attack side to level the score at 12-12 and force overtime. After two extra rounds, it was Eternal Fire that came out on top with a nail-biting 19-17 victory, securing a 2-0 series win and eliminating Team Falcons before the LAN finals.
In this match, Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş and Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın were at the top of the leaderboard for Eternal Fire. Meanwhile, René “TeSeS” Madsen held the top spot on Team Falcons. Sadly for Niko supporters, their star player struggled during this game, with a lower count of 29 kills compared to 42 deaths, which isn’t ideal.
Team Falcons won’t participate in the BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1 Finals, but their next major competition is the prestigious IEM Katowice tournament starting on February 1st, 2025. As a direct-invite team, they will bypass the Play-In round and start in the top 16 bracket. Will Team Falcons recover swiftly? We’re eager to see how it unfolds!
