Up in the air, you’ll find FarmVille-esque simulator inviting you on an exciting journey of discovery. As you roam around, you’ll stumble upon various resources, and among them, a crucial item to keep in mind is paper.

Where to Find Paper in Aloft

In the ruins of ancient towns and houses that still stand, you’ll often come across scraps of paper. When exploring a man-made ruin, search for a book with its pages rustling in the wind – you might even hear them fluttering. Use the interact button to collect them. The world has only a few of these pages left, but you should be able to find enough to learn many different skills before running out.

How to Make Paper

As a gamer here, I’ve discovered that to craft my own paper from scratch, I’ll need to construct a Workbench first. This essential recipe is among the initial few you’ll find on the starting islands. Once you’ve got your Workbench ready, navigate to its recipe menu and combine one Glasswort, three Small Plants, and one Clean Water. Remember, dirty water won’t cut it for this particular recipe.

Obtain some Paper Pulp here. Once you have it, head to the Workbench, mix together 5 units of Paper Pulp to create a single Sheet of Paper. Here are some locations where you can gather the materials needed for making Paper Pulp.

  • Clean Water: Mix Charcoal and Dirty Water in your crafting menu or at the Workbench.
  • Small Plants: Using a Sickle, cut down any of the plants growing around; most will yield some of these little green leaves.
  • Glasswort: This plant can be found on some islands; it kind of looks like coral. I have included a screenshot of what it looks like below. You need a Sickle to collect it, and it also gives Small Plants when cut down.

What is the use of Paper in Aloft?

The primary purpose of paper is its role in helping you learn new skills, particularly when it comes to cooking and understanding various structures or objects. Whenever you come across something intriguing in your environment that you’ve never been able to create before, you can jot it down in a sketchbook as a guide for learning how to make it yourself. To accomplish this effectively, you’ll need an ample supply of charcoal and blank pages on which to draw your findings. Additionally, paper is essential for creating a Field Guide, which will be indispensable when working on restoring island ecosystems.
