Act 3 of Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant marks a positive turn for Bungie’s ongoing loot-shooter game. The recent content update has been positively received, introducing the new Slayer’s Fang shotgun and the Exotic mission Kell’s Fall, which awards it upon completion.
You might not be aware of it, but there’s a challenge called Kell’s Vengeance. In this fight, you face Skolas (who was brought back to life in Destiny 1’s House of Wolves expansion), and the reward is an exceptionally rare emblem if you win.
As a dedicated Destiny player, I’ve been thrilled to witness the epic battles unfolding in our community, and the recent one has truly earned widespread acclaim on Reddit. Players are praising this intense encounter, stating that it finally brings a much-anticipated win to the game’s second episode, closing it on a triumphant note.
Kell’s Vengeance is a massive hit with Guardians
On Reddit’s r/DestinyTheGame, a Guardian expressed their strong approval for Kell’s Vengeance, citing multiple aspects that won them over: no Champions to contend with, high difficulty level, its ability to be completed alone, and the unique emblem and ship rewards. However, they noted that Fikrul’s presence wasn’t as impactful as the reappearance of Skolas.
Keep in mind, since Skolas can be defeated and subsequently brought back as an indestructible boss, it’s only appropriate that he returns with such formidable strength, being one of the mightiest Kells in Fallen lore.

One player responded with “The most entertaining thing they’ve created in any episode,” while another added, “That understates it a bit, it’s genuinely fun overall, not just more enjoyable than this year’s poorly crafted content.
The attraction was so strong that it drew in individuals who typically wouldn’t care, causing them to alter their schedules: “Apparently there’s a task for this? Looks like I’ve found my purpose for the week then!,” said one participant, eagerly preparing to undertake the mission.
Some users found it rather uninspiring due to its reused elements, but overall, it’s a small issue compared to usual Destiny criticisms.
It’s clear that the majority of people are really enjoying this novel pastime, which is fantastic news considering Destiny 2’s recent struggles. It’s no surprise that the game’s player base has been decreasing, so it’s heartening to see Bungie receiving appreciation at last, particularly following their decision to ban a fresh wave of cheaters just last week.
These back-to-back victories are indeed authentic, and it’s hopeful that this might spark a revival for the looter shooter. However, whether this is truly the start of a resurgence remains to be seen. In the interim, don’t forget to explore which of the game’s subclasses will receive a significant boost in Episode Heresy, and check out an effective Void Warlock build that works well with Slayer’s Fang.
