Kino Lorber, a film distribution company based in New York that focuses on art house films, international cinema, and classics, has chosen Karoliina Dwyer to serve as their Vice President for Acquisitions.
In her position, Dwyer is responsible for managing the acquisition of films for our company, which includes theatrical showings, pay-per-view video on demand (VOD), partnership licensing deals, and content for our streaming service, Kino Lorber’s Kino Film Collection.
Dwyer will be supervised by Lisa Schwartz, who holds the position of Chief Revenue Officer. Her team consists of Nicholas Kemp, the Senior Vice President of Theatrical Distribution and Marketing, Rebecca Winter, the Vice President of Partnerships and Platform Management, and George Schmalz, the Vice President of Repertory and International Distribution.
Lisa Schwartz, who is the Chief Revenue Officer, will have Dwyer reporting to her. Her team includes Nicholas Kemp as the Senior Vice President of Theatrical Distribution and Marketing, Rebecca Winter in the role of Vice President of Partnerships and Platform Management, and George Schmalz as the Vice President of Repertory and International Distribution.
Born in Finland, Dwyer is now part of Kino Lorber, having previously worked at The Yellow Affair, a global sales agency based in New York, London, and Helsinki. Since 2018, she has held the position of CEO there.
Dwyer commenced her professional journey by working in the sectors of development and production. Additionally, she has provided consultancy services on international sales and distribution for numerous entities such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Kino Lorber, and others. She is a graduate of both EAVE European Producers Programme and Inside Pictures.

Kino Lorber’s latest offerings encompass the Academy Award-nominated “Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat” – a documentary feature that has also been recognized with nominations for best documentary from the Film Independent Spirit Awards and the Gotham Awards, and recently garnered three IDA Awards and two Cinema Eye Honors; Paul Schrader’s critically-acclaimed “Oh, Canada,” featuring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, and Jacob Elordi; and the captivating hummingbird rescue documentary, “Every Little Thing”, which graced the screens at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.
