Is It Worth Buying Weapons From the Shop?
In most cases, purchasing just one higher-tier weapon in the store becomes beneficial when higher-tier weapons become available. This is primarily due to the fact that they offer increased damage per second (DPS). However, you should note that their passive abilities and quality upgrades (+1, +2, etc.) are typically identical and less advantageous compared to combat drops. Furthermore, you’ll also require funds for buying consumables and Battle Arts from shops.
What Are the Best Weapons to Use in Dynasty Warriors Origins?
In Dynasty Warriors Origins, you gain access to new weapons incrementally as you complete story missions and chapters. Since many weapons will be restricted during specific stages, we’ve chosen to categorize the top weapons lists by chapter. Here is a list ranking weapons for each advancement phase in DWO:
Chapter 1 (Early Game)
- Longsword: The Longsword has the perfect balance of attack speed and damage. Plus, its Battle Arts are pretty solid, and you can get Longsword EX from the Shop pretty early.
- Spear: The Spear has a really good range and solid DPS. It’s perfect for dealing with enemies in bulk.
- Gauntlets: Gauntlets lack range, and they compensate for that with their single-target DPS.
Chapter 2 (Mid Game)
- Staff: The Staff has insane attack speed, DPS, and range. It’s the ultimate weapon choice for Chapter 2.
- Twin Pikes: The Twin Pikes have an amazing range and are the go-to weapon for dealing with massive hordes of enemies. The Dodge + Light Attack combo spam is especially good.
- Longsword: The Longsword is still a good weapon, even for Chapter 2.
- Spear: The Spear is worse than the Twin Pikes and the Staff, but it’s still viable.
- Wheels: The Wheels have pretty good AoE, but their DPS is lackluster.
- Gauntlets: The Gauntlets are still good for 1v1s, though the Staff is just better.
- Podao: The Podao’s attack speed is atrocious. The fact that you have to use it for some training missions will send chills down your spine.
