‘A Bronx Tale: One Man Show’ Acquired by Tribeca Films (EXCLUSIVE)

The one-man show “A Bronx Tale: An Autobiography by Chazz Palminteri,” which served as the basis for the 1993 film of the same name starring Palminteri and Robert De Niro, has been purchased by Tribeca Films for worldwide distribution.

Jane Rosenthal, CEO of Tribeca Enterprises and co-founder with De Niro, stated that “‘A Bronx Tale'” is deeply intertwined within the essence of Tribeca. Thirty-five years after its initial stage debut, the film adaptation of Chazz Palminteri’s live one-man show will now be accessible to a newer, younger audience as the latest addition to the Tribeca Films collection.

As a passionate admirer, I can’t help but share that “A Bronx Tale” was inspired by Chazz Palminteri’s personal journey growing up in the vibrant Bronx during the 1960s. In this captivating narrative, a young character named Calogero finds himself unwittingly witnessing a violent act and subsequently forms an unusual bond with a local mob figure in its wake.

Palminteri expressed his strong desire to produce ‘A Bronx Tale: One Man Show,’ as he wants future generations to grasp the valuable lesson of not letting their talents go unused. Witness this captivating story unfold in an unprecedented, intimate way on screen.

The one-man show, ‘A Bronx Tale,’ made its debut worldwide last June at the De Niro Center during the Tribeca Film Festival, and it later premiered internationally in October at the Tribeca Festival Lisboa.

Beyond the release of the latest recording, the 1993 film is set to reappear in cinemas this year. Moreover, Palminteri plans to perform his stage play across various venues in 2025. He will engage in a post-screening discussion following “A Bronx Tale: One Man Show” at Quad Cinema, New York, on January 28.
