Before the thrilling launch of “Severance” Season 2, I had the pleasure of joining Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Zach Cherry for a fun round of “Most Likely To” on camera with EbMaster.
As a film enthusiast, I’d say when asked about the cast member who most embodies their inner selves, everyone seemed to agree it was Lower, portraying Helly. While I don’t claim to be identical to my innie, there’s no denying that Lower carries a streak of rebellion much like her character, Helly does.
Ever since “Severance” premiered in 2022, a gap of three years between seasons has sparked much speculation among viewers, trying to decipher the enigmatic aspects of the series, such as the true nature of Lumon Industries, the company central to the storyline.
The group suggested Cherry, the one portraying Dylan, as the individual who devotes the most hours delving into fan speculations. “I guess it’s due to my extended time spent on the internet,” Cherry admitted.
Cherry commented that he’s come across numerous fan arts depicting Turturro’s character, Irving, and his love interest Burt, portrayed by Christopher Walken. Some of these artworks are so surprising that it makes him question, “Did we watch the same show?”, or they accurately foreshadow future events according to Cherry.
Turturro said when he sees the fan art, “I get scared.”
When discussing who tends to marathon entire TV shows, Scott and Cherry found common ground as avid “Survivor” enthusiasts, while Turturro prefers watching classic films instead. Both Scott and Cherry mentioned being inspired by Turturro’s taste in movies and have sought out timeless pieces like “In the Mood for Love” and “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Lower mentioned that she maintains a list of “every suggestion from John, whether they’re about books or films.
In the acclaimed Apple TV+ sci-fi series, both Turturro and Walken have been lauded for their performances. Interestingly, their on-screen camaraderie seems to extend beyond the screen. According to Turturro himself, Walken is the person he shares the most laughter with during filming. “Oftentimes,” Turturro shared, “we’ll review our lines and we end up laughing about what we had for lunch or some other random thing. It never seems to stop.
Season 2 of “Severance” premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, Jan. 17.
