Ever since its official recognition in March 2015, speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 has been building for several months. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that an announcement regarding the new hardware would be made before the end of the current fiscal year. However, rumors and leaked information have circulated online, possibly causing some frustration within Nintendo, but certainly not dampening the anticipation for the device.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement over the unveiling of the next-gen Switch console! It was a real treat to catch a glimpse of it, and I must say, it appears significantly larger than its predecessor. The hybrid design remains intact for portable and home play, which is fantastic news. As for the Joy-Cons, they’ve received a facelift – now equipped with magnets rather than the clips, hopefully eliminating any future issues related to Joy-Con drift. Bring on the Switch 2!

You’ll need to hold on until April 2nd, 2025 for the Nintendo Direct broadcast, where they’ll unveil further details about the Nintendo Switch 2, such as its launch date, pre-order information, hardware specifications, game releases, and more. It has been verified that Switch games and the Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be compatible with the new system as we get closer to the April Nintendo Direct for the Switch 2.
