It wasn’t difficult for Thornton to convincingly portray a fresh injury. “That was immediately after the Andy Garcia incident, and I took quite a beating,” he explains (as reported by Deadline).

The actor admits, “We filmed it during the dead of night and I was absolutely drained.” He adds, “I was so tired I felt like I might faint, so my performance wasn’t much of an act.” This scene, filled with authentic exhaustion, powerfully portrays a climactic ending that introduces a key character and lays the groundwork for significant developments within the show’s universe.

As I climbed into the truck, it seemed like Tommy was already contemplating his relief at leaving that place behind. However, he didn’t realize what was coming next, since Gallino, the imposing figure, had just arrived on the scene.
