Severance Season 3 just got a huge update before Season 2 premiere

In just a few days, the second season of Severance on Apple TV+ will make its debut, and following this extended interval, here’s some positive news: Ben Stiller has already started work on Season 3.

In January 2022, Severance premiered on streaming platforms, swiftly climbing to the top spot as Apple TV’s most captivating series, leaving viewers heartbroken following the dramatic season finale cliffhanger.

This week, fans’ eagerness will be satisfied as the initial episode of season two premieres. There are numerous questions that need immediate resolution; among them are whether Mark will reconnect with Ms. Casey, if Helly R will reveal her ‘outie’, and what transpired between Irving and Burt following Irving’s visit to Burt’s residence?

Regardless of what occurs, we remain in place – and as per the latest announcement from Stiller, Severance will persist. (or, Severance continues to be a part of our schedule, as confirmed by Stiller’s recent update)

Severance Season 3 is already in development

commend Kier as the team led by Dan Erickson (creator of Severance) and others are actively working on Severance Season 3. Fingers crossed for a reduced wait time between seasons in the future.

In conversation with Collider, Stiller expressed his sense of duty to take the audience on a journey by ensuring there’s a purpose or direction in the content he presents.

From the beginning, we’ve prioritized knowing where things are headed, and Apple has consistently backed us in this approach, being mindful of our narrative’s direction rather than insisting on continuous success for its own sake.

The duration should match the length of the story, which we generally understand, and we’re aiming for that as we begin our preparations for Season 3.

Severance Season 3 could take “less time”

For those fortunate enough to have watched Severance during its second season, don’t forget to sympathize with those who have been waiting nearly three years now.

Fortunately, if everything goes to plan, we won’t need to wait until 2028 for Season 3.

Erickson expressed to Gizmodo that he’d prefer if it could be accomplished more quickly,” and “Regarding our discussions on the topic, this has definitely been a point of discussion.

The reason behind this is that Season 2 and Season 1 had roughly equal production times. However, since Season 1 premiered without much fanfare, there were no eager viewers anticipating its release.

Simultaneously, I’m constantly trying to refine the process by keeping what functions well and discarding what doesn’t. My expectation is that if we get a Season 3, it will come sooner rather than later.
