Pokimane reveals why she canceled her solo “Don’t Tell Anyone” podcast

Streamer Pokimane disclosed the reason for ending her “Don’t Tell Anyone” podcast alone, opting instead to team up with LilyPichu on a new dual-hosted show.

In a announcement made in November 2023, Pokimane revealed she would be launching her own weekly podcast where she’d discuss diverse subjects over the following months.

Eventually, it came to an end in June 2024, and the popular Twitch personality unveiled her fresh podcast, titled Sweet n Sour, alongside LilyPichu, in September.

Fans have been wondering about the reason behind Pokimane ending her standalone podcast, and in a recent appearance on JSchaltt and Ted Nivison’s Chuckle Sandwich show, she disclosed the motive for the termination of “Don’t Tell Anyone”.

Pokimane says solo podcasting is difficult

As a streamer, I’ve been hosting my own podcast solo for quite some time, but lately, I’ve made a switch to co-hosting with LilyPichu on our fresh new show. Here, I’ll share the motivations behind this decision of mine.

She had done it for a while, and eventually, she felt as though she had run out of things to express. She had shared all her tales already. This was her sentiment.

Later, Ted inquired further about Poki’s solo podcast, having just shared his own reservations about managing it independently.

I spend quite a few hours streaming daily as well. It’s not primarily about conversing with myself, which I can manage quite comfortably. Instead, it involves consistently finding engaging topics each week and then structuring an entire episode around them. If I were to simply talk into the microphone without any planning, I could certainly do that.

I’ve been aiming for more organized episodes, and it feels as challenging as creating a full video episode for over an hour.

Ever since launching the Sweet n Sour podcast, Pokimane has shared numerous accounts from her personal life and entire streaming journey.

In the initial broadcast, Poki disclosed that prior to inking her initial exclusive deal with Twitch, YouTube extended an “opportunity of a lifetime” by proposing she stream on their YouTube platform, which is owned by Google.

Instead, she chose to stay faithful to Twitch, which eventually made her one of the platform’s most prolific content producers.

Or more informally:
Instead, she stuck with Twitch, ending up as one of their top content creators.
