NICKMERCS leaves FaZe Clan after five years in shock announcement

Streaming sensation NICKMERCS recently disclosed his decision to depart from FaZe Clan, following a six-year tenure with the team.

On a breathtaking day, January 10, 2025, I sent shockwaves through the streaming community as I revealed my decision to part ways with FaZe Clan. This move marked a return to familiar grounds, as it had been since I joined them following my departure from rival organization 100 Thieves back in 2019.

On X’s latest post, the popular Twitch streamer shared that his absence was due to vacation travels over the holiday season and subsequent illness.

He intends to resume streaming on January 13, but no longer as part of the FaZe Clan; instead, he’s chosen to pursue other opportunities.

NICKMERCS “moves forward” from FaZe Clan

As stated by NICKMERCS, his departure from FaZe wasn’t due to any issues within the organization, but instead, it represented a desire for him to try something new.

He shared that he’s parting ways from FaZe Clan now, emphasizing there are absolutely no problems between them. It’s simply a matter of moving on to new opportunities.

He expressed that he holds a great deal of affection for Banks, Tommy, Rug, Apex, and many others, and wishes them, along with the rest of their group, nothing but the very best. Furthermore, he is deeply appreciative of the memories and accomplishments they shared.

The streamer expressed his unwavering enthusiasm and drive by stating, “I’m more determined and eager than ever before to get back to work. That break was pleasant, but it’s now time for me to refocus and aim for an exceptional 2025!” He signed off with these words.

Approximately a year has passed since FaZe Clan underwent a significant overhaul, which saw popular figures such as Kalei, Rain, Blaze, and others depart from the organization.

Since the reboot, it has proven beneficial, particularly as the fresh team led by Banks reportedly accumulated approximately $12 million in earnings following the conclusion of their highly successful stream-a-thon on September 30, 2024.

FaZe Clan responds to NICKMERCS’ exit

Following Nick’s announcement about his departure from the organization, a message was shared by the group, expressing their appreciation and acknowledging the streamer for all he’d done in the previous five years.

From the get-go, there was an instant connection between us, as if we were long-lost brothers. They say ‘cut from the same cloth,’ and that certainly rings true for us. You’ve been a part of Team FaZe through thick and thin, even during its toughest times. I’ve got nothing but love for you.

As I reflect on our journey together, I find myself reminiscing about the times we shared within FaZe Clan, NickMercs. It seems we crossed paths at an inopportune moment for both of us, yet the fact that we lasted five years speaks volumes about your character. The connection between us was instant, and it always felt like we were kindred spirits.

FaZe also discussed their organization’s reboot, stating: “Clearly, over the past year, FaZe has undergone a significant shift, and it no longer made sense to keep Nick with us. He has wholeheartedly supported the new vision and has been one of the most enthusiastic supporters of our comeback.

As of now, it’s undecided whether NICKMERCS intends to join a different organization. For the moment, viewers will have to adapt to him no longer flying the FaZe flag during his livestreams. However, FaZe has made it clear that they remain open to offering assistance should he require it in the future.
