John Wick 4 appears to have concluded the tale of Baba Yaga, offering up unique action scenes and introducing intriguing new characters such as the enigmatic blind warrior Caine. Portrayed by martial arts master Donnie Yen, Caine demonstrated himself to be a formidable adversary-turned-accomplice for Keanu Reeves’ powerful character, John Wick.
In a fresh interview, Yen hints that he might not only act in the upcoming Caine spinoff series, but could potentially take on the role of director as well.

In his latest chat with Collider, Yen confessed that the gossip about him discussing the movie’s direction was accurate. “Indeed,” he clarified, emphasizing that this wasn’t a trivial matter for him.
He shared that it seems everyone involved – the fans included – hopes for this event to occur, and time will tell if it does. While I can’t disclose more details, I can confirm that discussions have been held and they’ve been quite in-depth. Only the future will reveal the outcome.
He’s eager for the chance, a challenge even an action legend might savor, but he’s mindful of it too. As he goes on, he expresses his sense of duty and the weighty expectation that comes with it – not wanting to tarnish the legacy of the franchise. His aim is to contribute something novel to the series itself.
He emphasized that it’s primarily about the dedicated followers of John Wick. He wants to ensure their anticipation isn’t let down. As always, he strives to deliver his best.
Yen has previously taken charge before, and now he’s at it again directing his new movie The Prosecutor. His first time directing a feature film was back in 1997 with Legend of the Wolf. We’ll keep you posted if there’s news about him being involved in the upcoming spin-off.
