Mel Gibson continues working on The Passion of the Christ 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to one of cinema’s most contentious films, and it now bears a fresh name.
2004 saw Mel Gibson shatter box office milestones with The Passion of the Christ, a gripping portrayal of Jesus’ last days. It held the title of highest-grossing R-rated film in America until Deadpool and Wolverine came along.
Currently, The Chosen is focusing on the events leading up to the crucifixion. This means that the filmmaker is now ready to proceed with the making of the sequel.
At the end of the initial movie, played by Jim Caviezel, Jesus rose from his tomb. As one would anticipate, the sequel delves deeper into this event, the resurrection, and it now bears a title that’s somewhat changed.
