Five-star Raids in Pokemon Go are set to include Black Kyurem and White Kyurem during the Go Tour: Unova event. Here’s what players need to be aware of.
In the upcoming Pokemon Go event, Go Tour: Unova, you’ll find Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star Raids. Here are some things you should keep in mind.
Pokemon with the Dragon type in Pokemon Go have a captivating past, considering that certain gamers obtained them as rewards for participating in the Go Battle League back in December 2023.
Consequently, as they were accidentally freed, neither of them stayed available for an extended period. Luckily, Players can look forward to witnessing the Kyurem creatures again, as they will be featured in upcoming raids during the Pokemon Go Tour: Unova.
When will Black & White Kyurem debut in Pokemon Go?
Beginning March 1, 2025, during the Pokemon Go Tour: Unova, you’ll have the chance to encounter both versions of Kyurem in five-star raids. Initially, they will appear at the New Taipei City and Los Angeles tour events, before being made available globally for all players as part of a worldwide event.
In a recent Pokemon Go Live update, developers revealed that players will encounter Pokemon via a unique event known as Pokemon blend or merging.
The process of fusion involves merging specific Pokémon together, using DNA Splicers, to create a much stronger and unique-looking Pokémon that is significantly more potent than its individual parts.
Specifically, Volt Fusion Energy enables Kyurem to merge with Zekrom, transforming into Black Kyurem. On the other hand, by employing Blaze Fusion Energy, Kyurem fuses with Reshiram, leading to the formation of White Kyurem.
Exciting update for all trainers!❄️
The ice-breathing duo, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, are set to make their first appearance in Pokémon GO. This will happen during the Pokémon GOTour: Unova – Los Angeles/New Taipei City event, followed by a global debut on March 1, 2025!

How to fuse Kyurem in Pokemon Go
Following successful battles against either Kyurem’s forms during raids, trainers are given a chance to capture the Pokemon in its unfused state. Some fortunate trainers might even catch a Shiny one.
In order to merge a Black Kyurem, trainers need to combine 30 Kyurem Candies, 30 Zekrom Candies, and 1000 units of Electric Fusion Energy. This will allow them to join Kyurem with Zekrom.
Combining White-Black Kyurem through a fusion process involving Reshiram, requiring 30 pieces of Reshiram Candy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and a total of 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy.
Significantly, the merged version of Kyurem will stay combined unless a Trainer chooses to separate them, luckily, without requiring additional Candy or Fusion Energy for this process.
