Due to the destructive wildfires in the Los Angeles region, streaming sensations Valkyrae and Cinna have had to postpone their planned week-long streaming extravaganza.
On the 6th of January, a wildfire ignited in the Pacific Palisades district of Southern California, engulfing more than 500 acres of land from late Tuesday evening until early Wednesday morning. The fire expanded swiftly.
After that, the fire has persisted in its destructive path through the Palisades region, and unfortunately, additional fires have ignited in Malibu and Santa Monica as well.
In the aftermath of these fires, numerous houses, historical sites, and other buildings have been utterly destroyed. These fires were fueled by “extremely strong winds” that lashed the Los Angeles area on January 7th.
Because the fires were extremely intense, well-known content creators like Shroud and Cash Nasty were forced to halt their projects temporarily and evacuate their residences.
Valkyrae & Cinna halt subathon amid Palisades fires
Internet sensation Valkyrae and emerging Twitch personality Cinna had to push back their scheduled joint week-long streaming event, as announced in a broadcast on the 8th of January.
The two broadcasters arranged for notable guests and went as far as hiring and adorning an Airbnb for their live show. They jokingly titled it ‘The Sisathon.’
Due to the ongoing fires, these influencers have decided to postpone their marathon until the situation improves. They explain that the house they were planning to stay in during the event lies within an active fire zone.
“Unfortunately, we have to reschedule,” Valkyrae explained.
Cinna emphasized, “It’s impossible to avoid this fact – everything is shut down, there’s no electricity, and our home is in a dangerous area. It’s just too risky for us to proceed.
“The house is between two different fires,” Valkyrae continued. “It’s crazy.”
In the course of composing this text, it remains undetermined as to when the ‘Sisathon’ will take place. However, Valkyrae and Cinna have unequivocally expressed that the security of their guests and fellow streamers is a priority they will always uphold, even if it means sacrificing content creation.
The recent event marked another significant, continuous streaming broadcast, following IShowSpeed’s uninterrupted playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2. His heartfelt conclusion, filled with tears, declared this game as “the greatest ever made.”
