Microsoft has introduced fresh enhancements to the Xbox Rewards scheme with the aim of promoting engaging and age-suitable gaming activities. However, it’s essential to note that only individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to use these latest improvements.

As an avid gamer, I’m thrilled about the upcoming change! Starting from tomorrow, January 7, Quests – simple tasks within the Xbox ecosystem like playing a game or using the Xbox app – will no longer be exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate members. Now, PC Game Pass members like me can also earn points for each completed task. These points can be exchanged for cool stuff such as Xbox gift cards and even donations! It’s a fantastic new perk that I can’t wait to start enjoying!

Additionally, there’s now a stipulation that you must spend a certain amount of time playing games to accrue points. At the moment, Quests are exclusively accessible for titles under Game Pass, except for those needing external launchers like Steam or Battle.net. Weekly play streaks have made a return, enabling players to collect points by logging in and playing games for at least five days a week. Keeping up this streak from one week to the next unlocks multipliers of up to four times the regular points.

By March 2024, Xbox Rewards underwent another update, incorporating a centralized hub for effortlessly monitoring and managing points. Meanwhile, speculation swirls that the next-generation Xbox might debut as early as 2026, with a possible handheld version following suit later on.
