This year’s Golden Globe Awards have arrived, and celebrities are gracing the crimson carpet before the event commences.
This coming Sunday evening, I’ll be excitedly tuning in to the 82nd Golden Globes, held at the prestigious Beverly Hilton. Comedian Nikki Glaser will be this year’s hilarious host, promising a night full of laughter and glamour! You can catch all the action live on CBS or streaming on Paramount+, starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Time/8 p.m. Eastern Time. It’s going to be an unmissable event for any film enthusiast like myself!
1. Jacques Audiard’s film “Emilia Pérez,” a blend of music and drama, has earned an impressive 10 nominations at the Globes, equaling the number held by both “Barbie” from 2023 and “Cabaret” from 1972. Following closely behind with 7 nominations is Brady Corbet’s film “The Brutalist.” This nearly four-hour historical epic, featuring Adrien Brody, is in contention for best drama against “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave,” “Dune: Part Two,” “The Nickel Boys,” and “September 5.” Meanwhile, “Emilia Pérez” will challenge for the title of best musical or drama alongside “Anora,” “Challengers,” “A Real Pain,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.”
Regarding television nominations, “The Bear” earned five, with acting nominations for its main stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Cólon-Zayas. Both “Shōgun” and “Only Murders in the Building” received four awards apiece. Meanwhile, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” “Baby Reindeer,” and “Disclaimer” each took home three nominations. The second season of “Squid Game” was also nominated for best drama series before its Netflix release on December 26.
