Warzone Jan 3 update patch notes: Movement buffs & Wildcard changes

As a dedicated Warzone player with years of experience under my belt, I must admit that I have seen some changes over time, but this latest update feels like a breath of fresh air! The ability to mantle faster and open doors while sprinting may not seem like much at first glance, but these small improvements make a world of difference in the heat of battle.

I remember the days when mantling felt sluggish, and opening doors while running was a distant dream. But now, with this update, I can navigate the map more fluidly than ever before. It’s like Raven Software listened to our prayers and made it happen!

However, I have to say, I was expecting a few more changes in this update, especially regarding cheating and Perk rebalancing. But hey, I’ll take what I can get for now. At least the Battle Ready Wildcard got an upgrade, making it even more valuable for coordinated teams.

I must admit, I’m excited to see how the new Squid Game mode will play out on Urzikstan. The rotating challenges and Red Light, Green Light mechanic sound like a thrilling addition to the game. It’s a nice touch that adds some excitement to the mix.

Overall, this update brings a sense of optimism for the future of Warzone. I can’t wait to see what Raven Software has in store for us in Season 2! And let’s not forget, with great updates come great jokes: “I may have lost my Operator selections and customizations after this update, but at least I can mantle faster now!

Call of Duty: Warzone has been updated on January 3 to make some adjustments to the game mode before the arrival of Season 2. This is a minor update, but it includes some enhancements that players will appreciate.

The team responsible for creating Warzone is working hard to regain trust among its community, as the game saw a significant drop in players last December – approximately 102,000 users, equating to around 32.6% of its total player base.

Raven Software noticed a problem with cheating and pledged additional steps to address it in an upcoming update, also focusing on improving performance, game stability, and smoothness.

In November, it was disclosed that some Perks weren’t functioning as intended, prompting the developers to state they would be making adjustments. Yet, these modifications were not incorporated into this latest release, either.

In this latest version, you’ll find an improvement in the speed at which objects are processed (mantling) and the added feature that allows you to open doors even while running. It might be a bit of a letdown for those hoping for more, but let’s delve into all the other modifications made.

Warzone Nov 3 update patch notes

In this update, you’ll find all the details. However, Raven Software has issued a heads-up: Some gamers might discover their chosen Operators and Operator modifications reverted to default following this update.

Modes

Squid Game — Call of Duty: Warzone [Urzikstan]  NEW LIMITED-TIME

Gather your team and participate in a rotating sequence of challenges set in Urzikstan. The toughest fighters will survive as less successful teams are eliminated after each round. Be alert: at any moment, a new challenge might initiate a game of Red Light, Green Light, which you should be familiar with by now.

Movement

  • All mantle speeds have been increased.
  • Doors can now be opened and closed while sprinting.

Wildcards

  • Battle Ready: Replaced the regular UAV with a Supply UAV (The text description will remain incorrect until Season 02)
  • The power of the Battle Ready Wildcard has been evident throughout Season 01, providing a constant uptime of Advanced UAVs for coordinated teams. We’re making a change today that removes the UAV, and swaps it out for a Supply UAV and Utility Box. Moving its role into more of a sustain-oriented Wildcard, not a recon advantage on your enemies.

Weapons

Cleaver Melee weapon now available via Event rewards.
