As a connoisseur of Indian cinema with a particular fondness for cross-cultural romances and a soft spot for Mani Ratnam-esque tales, I am thrilled about Maddock Films’ upcoming production “Param Sundari.” The prospect of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in a heartfelt love story against the breathtaking backdrop of Kerala is enough to make any film enthusiast’s heart skip a beat.
The Indian movie production company Maddock Films’ film titled “Param Sundari” – a romantic story that spans cultures and features actors Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor – will make its way to the big screen on July 25, 2025.
The movie, helmed by Tushar Jalota (“Dasvi”), revolves around a romantic tale involving a Northern Indian character (Malhotra) and a Southern Indian figure (Kapoor), shot in Kerala. This film promises an emotional journey of love, as two distinct worlds clash, creating sparks. The narrative unfolds amidst the stunning backwaters of Kerala, offering a thrilling ride of humor, turmoil, and unforeseen turns that will leave you surprised. According to Maddock’s description, this is a love story filled with laughter, chaos, and unexpected twists.
Dinesh Vijan, from Maddock, stated to EbMaster, “This film is reminiscent of Mani-sir’s past works like ‘Saathiya’, with its unique music and the intriguing cast of Janhvi as a South Indian character and Sid as a Northern Delhi boy. The storyline presents an engaging conflict, which feels like an evolution from ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’. However, we’re not just stepping into the realm of ‘Kantara’, we’re venturing further, exploring beyond that.
In the popular sci-fi romantic comedy “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” Kriti Sanon portrays SIFRA, a highly intelligent female robot, who is developed by robotics engineer Aryan (Shahid Kapoor). Over time, Aryan develops feelings for SIFRA, and eventually, SIFRA starts experiencing sentient emotions.
Rishab Shetty’s film “Kantara” (2022) is an engaging blend of folk drama and action, unfolding against the backdrop of rural Karnataka. The story revolves around Shiva, a fiercely independent local resident, who finds himself in the middle of a conflict between his village’s cherished rituals and the relentless pursuit of contemporary wealth.
In 2024, Maddock Films presented a string of hit genre movies. These included the unexpectedly popular blend of horror and comedy titled “Munjya,” the sequel to the original hit “Stree 2,” the suspenseful “Sector 36,” and the mystery thriller “Murder Mubarak.
