EuropaCorp Back in Action With Film Slate, Nears TV Co-Production Deal With Federation Studios Label (EXCLUSIVE)

As a devoted aficionado of cinematic masterpieces, I find myself thoroughly enthralled by the recent resurgence of EuropaCorp under the visionary leadership of Luc Besson. The diversity and sheer magnitude of projects they have in the pipeline are nothing short of breathtaking!

Following its restructuring, Luc Besson’s company EuropaCorp has fully resumed film production with a number of French and international projects underway. Among these are “The Last Man,” a sci-fi movie featuring Snoop Dogg, and “Disorder,” a thriller starring Dylan Sprayberry from “Teen Wolf” and Thalia Besson, who is known for her role as Genevieve in “Emily in Paris” season 4.

EuropaCorp, famous for producing high-voltage action films like “Taken,” “The Transporter,” and Scarlett Johansson’s “Lucy,” is set to boost its presence in scripted television. Sources indicate that EuropaCorp is close to finalizing a partnership with Federation Studios to collaborate on the creation and production of TV series based on their most popular intellectual properties, as reported by EbMaster. While a “Lucy” spin-off was previously under development, it appears not to be among the franchises currently being considered for television adaptations.

EuropaCorp’s upcoming English-language thriller titled “Disorder” features Dylan Sprayberry as Parker Decker, a character who has committed a crime and is now confined to a unique boys’ correctional facility. Instead of traditional methods, the institution employs unconventional techniques. As the film nears completion in production, it is being marketed as a teenage adaptation of the classic “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

After his successful return with the movie “Dogman,” Luc Besson has been keeping himself occupied. He’s joining forces once more with actor Caleb Landry Jones for “Dracula,” a film adaptation of Bram Stoker’s famous Gothic novel, also featuring Christoph Waltz. The international distribution rights for this movie are being handled by Paris-based Kinology, as shooting has recently been completed. Besson is already planning his next project, a science-fiction movie titled “The Last Man,” which draws inspiration from “Planet of the Apes” and is both starred in and co-produced by Snoop. This venture could share similarities with “The Fifth Element,” one of Besson’s biggest hits that combined fantasy, action, and comedy.

2024 marked a significant milestone for EuropaCorp, providing us with the opportunity to strengthen our revitalized operations after the premiere of DogMan in 2023, which was chosen for screening at the Venice Film Festival,” expressed Jean-Marc Lacarrère, a previous executive from Canal+ Group, who joined as CEO in February.

In 2024, three movies were filmed, among them are “Dracula,” scheduled for release in 2025, along with “Hell in Paradise” – a gripping thriller directed by Leila Sy that boasts an all-female cast featuring Nora Arnezeder and Maria Bello.

Lacarrère stated that the company is consistently expanding its portfolio by creating new projects across different mediums such as movies, TV shows, and digital platforms. This is done through collaborations with external producers using co-production agreements. The aim is to boost the company’s business substantially in France and globally, with a focus on 2025 and beyond.

Since 2020, EuropaCorp has been under the ownership of Vine Alternative Investments. Currently, EuropaCorp is partnering with various established French production companies on a variety of projects. One such project is a yet-to-be-titled, uplifting teen movie that EuropaCorp is co-producing with Nolita. This film will feature young actors alongside French comedian Manu Payet and is set to begin filming in the summer. Additionally, EuropaCorp is teaming up with Windy Production on “Les Glenans,” an adventure film directed by Eric Capitaine.

The organization has additionally ventured into documentaries, producing “Trump, Dieu et les siens,” an investigative documentary directed by Laurence Haim, a seasoned journalist who has reported on U.S. politics for 25 years and unveiled the backstage of Trump’s Presidential campaign.

EuropaCorp’s forthcoming film lineup includes “June & John,” a heartwarming romantic comedy that was filmed during the pandemic by Luc Besson. The film stars Don Scribner, Myles Cranford, Honey Lauren, and Jonathan Peacy in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released in France this coming Spring.
