As a long-time resident of this quaint little town called Virgin River, I must say that the recent events have left me more than a little flustered! The suspense is killing me!
Have you managed to comprehend that explosive ending? It certainly leaves us pondering, so let me share the top five pressing questions that Virgin River Season 7 must address promptly. Please be aware, there are spoilers below!
The wedding of the year has already passed, leaving Mel and Jack as husband and wife. The makers of Virgin River Season 6 put their all into making it happen, yet the joy was tempered by a mountain of shared history and challenges.
At weddings, people are often moved to strong emotions. However, this popular television series managed to extract the deepest feelings from everyone. As a result, the town’s individual tales have been thrown into uncertainty once more, leaving everything unpredictable.
In this version, I’m leaving out subplots such as Muriel’s cancer diagnosis and Everett’s heart attack recovery for now – the finale was intense enough on its own. However, let me share with you the burning questions we really want answered in Virgin River Season 7 without any further delay.
Will Mel and Jack adopt the surrogate baby?
In Season 6 Episode 10, Mel and Jack’s wedding takes center stage. However, following their nuptials, the focus shifts to Charmaine. Not only was she absent during bridesmaid preparations, but she didn’t attend the entire ceremony. To make matters worse, Mel’s surrogate patient appears at the cabin – the adoptive parents are backing out of the agreement. The surrogate mother now wishes for Mel to keep the baby, leaving her in a state of shock.
Here, it’s clear that Jack remains unaware of the situation. Given Mel’s past experience with being left as an abandoned baby (as you may recall from Season 1), it seems likely that she won’t abandon this baby and something significant is unfolding here.
As a gamer putting myself into the world of Virgin River, I’ve always imagined Mel and Jack having kids named David and Emma. Yet, that dream remains unfulfilled, as they continue to struggle with fertility issues instead. In the fourth season, I was hopeful when Mel became pregnant, but my heart ached for her in Season 5 when she suffered another miscarriage.
Couldn’t it be that now it’s high time they experience a joyful conclusion in this aspect of their lives? I believe so. Since they are now legally married, perhaps it is now the right moment for them to confront new challenges in a more wholesome manner.
According to Martin Henderson, the ending of the season leaves viewers eagerly anticipating Season 7, as the intriguing question hangs in the air: “Could Mel and Jack finally be starting a family after their long-awaited adoption process?” This offers an exciting prospect that fans have been looking forward to.
Is Charmaine alive?
“Among all the suspenseful endings, the one that stands out as particularly intense is the mystery surrounding Charmaine’s whereabouts. Following Calvin’s revelation about his paternity in Season 5, he becomes increasingly aggressive. In Season 6 Episode 3, Charmaine is granted full custody of the twins, and this infuriates him to the point of threatening Jack with “elimination,” after urging Charmaine to pursue her own path.
After suggesting that Brie and Jack obtain a restraining order for her, a series of events unfold rapidly before any action could be taken. Intriguingly, Charmaine fails to appear at Mel and Jack’s wedding where she was expected to perform bridal hair and makeup duties. The following day, Jack pays an unexpected visit to Charmaine’s residence, only to discover that it has been severely disorganized or vandalized.
From upstairs, Jack hears a soothing melody that sends chills down his spine. He enters the nursery with a shocked expression. Just as we’re about to find out what’s happening, the scene fades to darkness. It seems she may have been harmed or taken away, fueling speculation that Hammersley should be removed from the storyline.
As an avid viewer of Virgin River, I’d say the odds of Charmaine being spotted in either state are quite slim… but remember, we’re talking about Netflix here! This little town is full of surprises and unpredictable twists.
Based on how scenes are shot, it’s an idea I have that Lauren Hammersley might actually be pregnant off-screen. Removing Charmaine from the storyline isn’t entirely unlikely. Meanwhile, it’s reasonable to assume that the tension and risks portrayed may not be as high as they appear in the series.
Where has Lark gone with Brady’s money?
As it seemed like old times between Lark and me were over for good, she took an unexpected turn. The struggle for Brady’s insurance money during Season 6 was relentless, with our real feelings for each other getting lost in the shuffle due to a deceitful fake sick mom scheme.
In Episode 9, Lark listens in as Brady confesses to Brie that he’s still in love with her. By the end of Episode 10, the wedding concludes and Brady seeks out Lark, only to find out from Jo Ellen that Hazel left the house hours earlier, according to what Lark said when checking out of the Bed & Breakfast altogether. When Brady checks his phone, he discovers all of his money has been withdrawn (since Hazel had been playing on his phone during the day).
But she said it was over! She said she loved him! If anything, this is the Season 6 cliffhanger that raises the most questions. We’ve not got a real handle on Lark’s motives – we saw her putting on a brave face after Brady’s private conversation.
It’s uncertain whether Lark will return for Virgin River Season 7 or not. If he doesn’t, it might be that Brady has to handle everything on his own, which could potentially bring him closer to Brie again. As for the motor shop, its future remains a mystery as well.
Will Brie marry Mike?
Among all characters on the Virgin River series, Brie from Zibby Allen seems to be grappling with the most intense emotional conflict. Despite her hesitation to acknowledge it, she is still deeply drawn to Brady, a feeling that was rekindled when they shared a moment together in Episode 5.
In essence, the main predicament appears to revolve around Brie’s boyfriend, Mike. Towards the end of Episode 10, he proposes, revealing his awareness of her affair with Brady. As for whether she accepts or not remains uncertain. Many fans hope for a reunion between Brie and Brady, but given the circumstances, Mike seems like a more reliable choice.
Allen explained to TopMob that he believes if Brie agrees, she’s jumping the gun. He feels that Brie isn’t prepared for marriage with anyone at this moment. If Brady were to propose to her that night, it would be imprudent of her to accept, in Allen’s view.
“Writers do something entirely different, but it’s fascinating. I can’t tell you how much I was amazed by the scene where she says ‘I slept with Brady,’ and then Mike replies ‘I know.’ The way that conversation ended is what I found captivating, especially given its complexity.
Brie and Mike have some issues to address, as both men find it challenging to accept Brie for who she is and her current situation.
Can Doc hold onto the clinic?
It might have come as a surprise that Doc found himself on this list, but towards the end of Season 6, events took an unexpected turn and seemingly implicated him in a predicament. After heroically performing life-saving emergency brain surgery on a critically ill patient, he is now under scrutiny by the local medical board for possible misconduct or negligence.
Doc learns he’s been suspended pending investigation, meaning he can’t practice at the clinic. Hope says she got a call from a woman on the Grace Valley Hospital Board of Directors, who claimed they are “expanding their network” into Virgin River. Not knowing they are married, the pair work out this is a trap – they’re looking to buy Doc out to take over medical care in the town.
Without a doubt, Hope isn’t enjoying this situation at all. Now that the wedding has concluded, it seems like another opportunity for the townsfolk to unite again. Frankly, it feels like one suspenseful twist too many in my opinion, but we can’t let our beloved protagonist fall at the hands of the main antagonist.
As of the present moment, neither filming nor a release date has been announced for Virgin River Season 7. At this time, however, you can stream Season 6 on Netflix. Take a look at our review for Season 6, learn about the implications of Ricky’s return on Lizzie’s pregnancy, and discover what Everett shared with Mel.
