As a seasoned movie critic with a knack for unraveling the intricacies of psychological thrillers, I must say that “Verity” has piqued my interest like no other. The all-star cast led by Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett promises a rollercoaster ride through the labyrinthine mind of a bestselling author.
Actors Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, along with Anne Hathaway, are set to appear together in the movie version of Colleen Hoover’s hit novel “Verity”, which is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
Lowen Ashleigh, portrayed by Johnson, is a writer on the verge of financial collapse when she’s given an opportunity that could change her life – completing the unfinished series from renowned thriller author Verity Crawford (Hathaway), whose husband Jeremy, played by Hartnett, extends the offer after Verity gets injured in a strange incident.
When Lowen arrives at the luxurious Crawford mansion, she gradually uncovers a hidden truth – a mysterious, incomplete manuscript that could expose shocking revelations about the family’s history. As Lowen grows closer to Jeremy and his child, Crew, she needs to figure out if Verity’s writings are merely sensational stories or a dangerous message from a psychopath in distress.
Michael Showalter is set to direct the upcoming film “Verity,” which will hit movie theaters. The screenplay for this project has been penned by Nick Antosca; previous writers on the script have included Colleen Hoover, Lauren Levine, Hillary Seitz, Angela LaManna, and Will Honley & April Maguire.
Johnson’s representation includes CAA and Untitled, whereas Hartnett’s representation encompasses Entertainment 360 and Verve.
