As a passionate movie reviewer, I’ve just had the pleasure of watching “That’s Her,” directed by the talented Nina Lee. This captivating film is her brainchild, co-written with the creative duo, Wayne and Tiffany Yancey, who developed it from an original concept by Wayne. The production is under the skillful guidance of Stephen “Dr.” Love through his Made with Love Media banner, in collaboration with Wayne and Kountry Wayne Entertainment. The dynamic Coco Jones and Latisha Fortune are serving as executive producers for this remarkable project.
Lee expressed great enthusiasm when he shared that he had an intriguing tale about love to share. However, unlike most romantic comedies, this movie delves beyond the surface, investigating how our parents’ relationships shape our own dating experiences. The music in the movie is being managed by Kids Against Cubicles, a company established by LVRN, which is recognized for artists like Summer Walker and 6lack. In the case of “That’s Her,” Kids Against Cubicles will take charge of both the score and soundtrack, merging retro and contemporary tunes to amplify the film’s humor and emotional intensity.
Love expressed that when Wayne presented his idea, it reminded him of timeless classics such as ‘Boomerang’ and ‘Brown Sugar.’ However, he was eager to incorporate fresh visuals, something only a dynamic new talent like Lee could offer. Wayne mentioned that this movie will evoke the beloved nostalgia from the ’90s, but with a modern touch, creating an updated version of those classic ’90s romantic comedies.
