As a long-time admirer of the acting craft and a fervent fan of Harrison Ford‘s illustrious career, I can confidently say that the legendary actor’s addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is nothing short of extraordinary. The man who has graced our screens with iconic roles like Indiana Jones and Han Solo is now set to embody U.S. President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a role previously portrayed by the late William Hurt.
82-year-old acting icon Harrison Ford is set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in “Captain America: Brave New World,” which releases next year. Interestingly, Ford will be portraying U.S. president Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a character previously played by the late William Hurt. In this film, Ross is revealed to have the ability to transform into the Red Hulk. According to Ford himself, it was just another routine day on set for him.
Ford explained that he aimed to grasp the vision of the filmmakers and contribute to their efforts. He didn’t spend his evenings pondering, ‘What should I do when I transform into the Hulk?’ Instead, he found the idea of embodying the character not overly challenging.
In my perspective, as a supporter, I can say that the director of “Captain America: Brave New World,” Julius Onah, was left astounded by Ford’s performance in the movie. Despite the actor finding it less demanding, his portrayal left us on set speechless, exclaiming, “Wow, he nailed it!” It’s a pleasure to witness the Hulk once again smashing things up, and watching Ford embody this enraged character is truly remarkable.
In a conversation with Angelique Jackson from EbMaster’s during this year’s Comic-Con on the Marvel press line, Ford jokingly commented about the motion capture process that transformed him into the Red Hulk by saying: “What was it all about? It was about not caring. It was about being foolish for money, something I’ve done in the past.
As a humble movie critic, let me share my thoughts in a candid yet respectful manner. While I’m not here to pass judgement, I must admit there are aspects of this film that push boundaries – elements your mother or acting coach might advise against, but hey, it’s all part of the creative process! However, I can assure you, the fun and excitement I experienced during the production was unparalleled. The trailer response has been phenomenal, and I am nothing short of delighted by the anticipation that it has generated.
In several trailers for the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World,” Marvel hinted that Ford’s character would metamorphose into the Red Hulk. However, additional surprises in the storyline are being kept secret. Leading the Marvel blockbuster is Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who assumed the Captain America role during the series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
“Captain America: Brave New World” hits theaters next year on Feb. 14.
