Ariana DeBose Says Sony Should Move Kraven Into the MCU to Fight Spider-Man: ‘Give the Fans What They Want’

As a lifelong comic book fan and avid supporter of the Spider-Man universe, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for “Kraven the Hunter.” While it’s great to see Sony exploring the rich tapestry of characters from Spidey’s rogues gallery, I can’t help but long for the day when our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler will join the fray.

In Sony’s Spider-Man universe, “Kraven the Hunter” is the newest addition to the collection of antagonists from our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. However, similar to “Venom,” “Morbius,” and “Madame Web,” Spider-Man himself has yet to make an appearance in this film.

At the global debut of the movie in New York City, Ariana DeBose – playing Calypso alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven – explicitly urged Marvel Studios to include Kraven in future storylines, possibly engaging in a battle with Spider-Man.

DeBose expressed that “Kraven’s film is intended to be standalone and an origin story, but I believe it should culminate in an epic battle with Spider-Man. After all, there’s an entire comic dedicated to it. The audience wants it, and I think it’s a good idea. If there’s room for Kraven and Calypso’s journey, then that’s even better!

Hechinger explained that for each character, their powers can be likened to illnesses. The origins aren’t found within their powers themselves, but rather in their insecurities and the reasons behind their desperate need for them.

In a boundless cosmos brimming with potential, Marvel boasts an impressive pool of gifted artists. Why should June Squibb be any exception? After all, who wouldn’t want to see her unique charm and wit grace the pages of a Marvel comic book?

Hechinger praised his ‘Thelma’ co-star, calling her a real-life superhero in human form. I’d love to see June take on any comic book hero role from the Marvel universe. She’s simply outstanding!

Marvel, take note.
