As a seasoned Snapper with years of experience under my belt, I must say, this latest twist from Second Dinner has been quite a rollercoaster! The temporary boost to Infinity Splits was a delight that I didn’t want to see end, but the extension till December 17th is nothing short of a Christmas miracle for us card-splitting enthusiasts.
In October 2024, some Marvel Snap content creators and community members stumbled upon unannounced alterations to the Infinity Split, a discovery that the game’s developer, Second Dinner, had not shared with their player base. The developer then addressed this issue by modifying the Infinity Splits, changes that were incorporated in the mid-October 2024 patch update. These alterations temporarily increased Infinity Split rates, and as a gesture of goodwill, the developer offered compensation to players who were affected by these modifications.
These modifications to the Infinity Split rates are just temporary and will last until a major update in mid-December 2024, specifically on December 10th. The developer has informed players that they can expect a return to the original rates after this, as part of the upcoming patch notes for the Character Mastery feature, which is scheduled for release in the coming year.
We’ve got some exciting news! Due to some technical reasons, we need a bit more time to ensure our updated Split rates play nicely with the latest patch. So, we’ll be conducting additional tests on them for another week. That means the Boosted Split Rates will continue until next Tuesday, Dec 17! Enjoy the extended fun!

The plans have shifted since Second Dinner decided not to revert the enhanced Infinity Split rates, as stated in a recent social media post. Instead of returning to normal by 17th December 2024, these boosted rates will persist for another week. During this time, Snappers can still split their cards to earn unique backgrounds and finishes.
The programmer explained that they are extending the boosted Infinity Splits rates for an additional week in order to thoroughly test the updated split rates and avoid potential issues with the upcoming backstage testing of a new patch. Meanwhile, since the Character Mastery feature has not yet been given a specific launch date for next year, players should anticipate modifications to the Infinity Splits when this feature is eventually released.
According to the latest updates outlined in the patch notes, when Character Mastery becomes available, there will be modifications in Split rates coupled with numerous improvements for personalizing your preferred cards. This includes the addition of various Finishes and Flares. With Character Mastery, Snappers can earn cosmetics for their favorite cards, which contributes to a rewards tracker. This progress unlocks new Splits for these cards as well as exclusive rewards.
