As a lifelong fan of magical stories and a parent who has read “Fablehaven” to my own children countless times, I am absolutely thrilled about Angel Studios producing this beloved series! The excitement that the Angel Guild has shown for these books is a testament to their ability to recognize a timeless tale when they see one.
Angel Studios is all geared up to create and broadcast the movie version, “Fablehaven”, which is based on the beloved fantasy book series by Brandon Mull that has made it to the top of the New York Times Best Sellers list.
The production of ‘Fablehaven’ is gearing up for filming, scheduled around late summer of 2025. Angel Studios has struck a deal with Haven Films and will collaborate on the movie’s creation.
The upcoming movie is being helmed by Cameron Sawyer, who’s also known as “Tim Timmerman: Hope of America,” with producer Christian Busath and executive producer Travis Shreeve. This initial adaptation will concentrate on the first book in the series, aiming to bring all five books from the Mull series to the big screen in future projects. The movie is currently scheduled for a 2026 premiere.
It’s a special moment to join forces with Angel in bringing this incredible tale to life on the silver screen. Our love for these captivating books and timeless characters drives this partnership. As avid readers, we are excited to be part of this project,” stated Busath.
The “Fablehaven” book collection, put out by Shadow Mountain, takes readers on an exciting journey into a concealed realm teeming with enchanted creatures and long-forgotten mysteries. The narrative revolves around siblings Kendra and Seth Sorenson, who discover that their grandfather’s house is more than just an ordinary residence – it serves as a sanctuary for mythical beings. As most people remain unaware, the mansion becomes their stage for adventure. Later, their grandfather gets abducted by goblins, prompting the siblings to embark on a mission to save him. Meanwhile, a witch named Muriel plots to release an immensely powerful demon called Bahamut, which could potentially bring about the destruction of the world.
As a movie reviewer who fondly remembers the ‘Fablehaven’ book series being a cherished read for me and my children, I wasn’t taken aback when Angel Studios President Jordan Harmon expressed such ardor towards the project. In fact, it filled us with great joy to announce that we are eagerly working on adapting these captivating tales for the big screen. These stories, brimming with magic and wonder, have the potential to enchant families and inspire viewers of all ages.
Sawyer expressed immense enthusiasm about teaming up with Angel Studios for the adaptation of Brandon Mull’s cherished book series,” he said. “What particularly thrills us about this partnership is the opportunity to remain faithful to the original books, a luxury not often granted in modern collaborations.
