During a discussion held on Tuesday at the Red Sea Film Festival, Spike Lee shared insights about his forthcoming movie titled “Highest 2 Lowest”. Notably, he currently serves as the head of the competition jury for this event.
The movie draws significant influence from Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller “High and Low,” a fact the director himself mentioned. He went on to note that Kurosawa has been instrumental in shaping his career, starting with “She’s Gotta Have It” and beyond. In “High and Low,” an executive from a Yokohama shoe company finds himself ensnared in extortion after his chauffeur’s child is mistakenly kidnapped and held for ransom.
