‘Moana 2,’ ‘Wicked’ Lead U.K., Ireland Box Office, ‘Pushpa 2’ Makes Strong Debut

As a seasoned movie enthusiast and connoisseur of all things cinematic, I must say, the upcoming week promises to be a veritable feast for film lovers like myself! The tantalizing array of releases, from blockbuster spectacles to thought-provoking indies, has me positively giddy with anticipation.

In its second week, Disney’s “Moana 2” continued to lead the U.K. and Irish box office with a gross of £6.9 million ($8.8 million). This brings its overall earnings to £21.5 million ($27.4 million), according to data from Comscore.

1) Universal’s film “Wicked” consistently did well during its third week, earning an additional £5.3 million, bringing its total earnings to £37.7 million. Paramount’s “Gladiator II” held onto third place in its fourth weekend with a gross of £1.6 million, raising its overall earnings to £26.6 million. “Paddington In Peru,” distributed by Studiocanal, managed to keep audiences engaged during its fifth week, earning £1.2 million and amassing a total of £29 million so far.

In a recent release, the British version of “Pushpa 2 – The Rule,” starring Allu Arjun and distributed by AA Films U.K., made its debut at the fifth position earning approximately £1.1 million. On the other hand, “Andre Rieu’s Christmas Concert: Gold And Silver” from Piece of Magic Entertainment opened at sixth place with a gross of around £931,024 during this season.

In its second weekend, Black Bear’s “Conclave” made £779,764, bringing its total to £2.7 million. Meanwhile, Warner Bros.’ “Red One” accumulated an additional £454,458 in its fifth week, reaching a total of £7.2 million. The new entries, Disney’s “Nightbitch” and Sony’s “Solo Leveling – ReAwakening,” ended up in the top 10 with earnings of £133,976 and £112,242 respectively.

In the upcoming days, there are some highly anticipated debuts on the horizon. Among them are Sony’s comic book transformation “Kraven the Hunter” and Warner Bros.’ “The War of the Rohirrim” from “The Lord of the Rings.

In selected theaters, Picturehouse Entertainment presents the award-winning thriller “The Universal Theory,” while the film “Queer,” featuring Daniel Craig and directed by Luca Guadagnino, will be widely released on Mubi.

Extra offerings encompass “Sujo,” a drama by Beam Films that won at Sundance, “Simona Kossak” – a biopic produced by Magnetes Pictures which triumphed at the Polish Film Festival, and “The Bibi Files” from Dogwoof, an exposé on corruption allegations against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, based on leaked police interrogation videos.

The specialized market welcomes Dartmouth Films’ documentary “From Roger Moore With Love,” featuring interviews with Joan Collins, Christopher Walken, and Pierce Brosnan, while special event cinema includes “Cinderella” from the Royal Opera House and K-pop concert film “NCT DREAM Mystery Lab: DREAM( )SCAPE,” both from Trafalgar.
