As a seasoned gamer with a knack for predicting cinematic outcomes, I must confess that Liam Neeson’s foray into comedy has piqued my curiosity to no end. The man known for his brooding intensity and action-packed roles is stepping out of his comfort zone, and that in itself is worthy of attention.
One movie has given Liam Neeson pause at the idea of being part of it, and that’s his recent work yet to be watched by audiences. We’re referring to the remake of the classic “The Naked Gun,” a franchise traditionally linked with Leslie Nielsen.
In the upcoming movie “The Naked Gun,” it’s Liam Neeson who takes center stage. During an interview with Collider, he admitted that he isn’t accustomed to working on projects like this one. Comedy isn’t a genre he is well-known for, which made him nervous about being part of “The Naked Gun“. The actor was concerned that he might not measure up to the role, especially since it carries significant anticipation; after all, he’s stepping into a reboot of a beloved comedy series, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
The nerves never passed. We wrapped it two months ago… about three months ago, actually, in Atlanta. I think it went well. […] I trusted Akiva [Schaffer, writer/director] very much because it’s a genre I’m not really used to. I’ve done a couple of little TV sketches that might last two minutes or something. But, for a whole movie, this was a novel experience for me. So I was a bit nervous, and I was a bit nervous most days. Because I wasn’t sure if I was funny, to be honest.
Despite his nerves not abandoning him, Liam Neeson felt equipped for the challenge, thanks in part to the guidance of the director and writer of the latest film, “The Naked Gun.” This assistance allowed the actor, who harbored doubts about his comedic abilities, to successfully tackle his new role.
Work on “The Naked Gun” wrapped up about four months back. This hilarious flick is set to hit the big screens on August 1, 2025. So, it looks like we’ll have to be patient and wait a bit longer to catch Liam Neeson in his comedic role!
