1) The classic Super Mario RPG is now available at Best Buy for just $30, but the sale ends tonight, December 6th, at 10 PM Pacific Time. Many Nintendo Switch deals on Best Buy’s online platform have run out, however, some may still be available for purchase at your nearby retail location.

Remarkably true to its cherished roots, Super Mario RPG shines as an enchanting Nintendo Switch game, boasting numerous user-friendly improvements that make it inviting for novices. Longtime fans of the Mario RPG series will delight in a sequence of post-game battles designed to challenge even the most skilled players.

In essence, the Super Mario RPG game on Switch retains a striking resemblance to its legendary predecessor on the Super Nintendo, with only minor adjustments and enhancements. The battle system, though turn-based, remains engaging and enjoyable even today, while the characters and dialogue continue to evoke warmth and laughter. Additionally, the world layout maintains that classic, endearing charm of a Nintendo production.

The recently reviewed Super Mario RPG by TopMob discovered that the updated version of this SNES classic was an absolute joy to play. “Super Mario RPG stands out as one of Nintendo’s most unusual games. Packed with quirky characters like a Santa-like villain, unexpected bursts of dark humor—Toad impersonators use tickling as a form of torture and a four-eyed dog gobbles you up while commenting on the taste—and gameplay that is both chaotic and diverse, Super Mario RPG left a lasting impression at the end of the SNES era. Consistently adhering to its roots, the new Switch version is one of the most peculiar remasters I’ve ever experienced. Beneath its contemporary Mario veneer lies a game that is remarkably faithful to the original, making it a daring and largely successful experiment.

Even though Super Mario RPG for Switch has been around for just a year, Nintendo has rolled out two Mario RPGs since its debut. In May, they released an updated version of the GameCube classic, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This remastered edition is remarkably true to the original release and received a 9/10 in our Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review.

In November, Nintendo reintroduced the Mario & Luigi RPG series with Mario & Luigi: Partnership. According to our review, it received a score of 6 out of 10. Although we appreciated the visual aesthetic and narrative, problems related to performance, repetitive battles, and pacing concerns make Partnership an unbalanced, enjoyable though flawed, journey that might be slightly overextended.

Currently, both classic Mario RPGs and Paper Mario: The Origami King are discounted on Amazon and Woot. This means you have a chance to purchase all four physical editions of Mario role-playing games at a reduced price right now.
