As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must admit that the gaming world has taken an interesting turn with the announcement of Jake Paul joining Undisputed‘s roster. While I appreciate the efforts of Steel City Interactive to ensure authenticity by doing a full motion capture of Paul, I can’t help but feel a tad skeptical about his inclusion in a boxing game given his background.

In the upcoming release for Undisputed, a game that is considered the spiritual heir to EA’s Fight Night boxing series, Jake Paul will be the main event for a new batch of downloadable boxers. After beating boxing icon Mike Tyson in a decision, Paul is set to make his debut on the Undisputed roster starting December 12. This appearance will be part of the DLC pack known as “The Problem Child,” though the exact price has yet to be confirmed. Steel City Interactive, the developer behind the game, has performed full motion capture for Paul, aiming to create an in-game model that accurately captures his distinctive fighting style and uncompromising personality.

Jake Paul initially gained notoriety as a YouTube personality and social media influencer, later venturing into various fields such as boxing. Previously, allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled against him, which he has refuted.

In upcoming DLC expansions, Mexican Legends and Hard-Hitting Heavyweights, Paul will team up with various boxers. The Mexican Legends expansion will introduce Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, and Juan Manuel Márquez, while James ‘Buster’ Douglas, Otto Wallin, and Zhilei Zhang will become playable characters in the Hard-Hitting Heavyweights pack.

For every fresh combatant introduced, Steel City intends to provide an alternate costume option for them, with new costumes being developed for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk – who will face each other again on December 21st. Additionally, expect new locations, animations, and multiple updates as part of future free releases.

Initially released in October, the game has garnered mostly favorable feedback thus far. On Metacritic, its sister site TopMob’s rating platform, it currently holds a metascore of 72. Critics have commended it for its stunning graphics and robust foundations, acknowledging that there is still potential for further enhancements. For those eager to spar with Jake Paul, Undisputed can be found on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
