As a die-hard fan of 50 Cent since his “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” days, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by this latest move! The man has always been about hustle and innovation, and this action channel on Roku is just another testament to that. From his Grammy-winning tunes to his high-octane films, 50 Cent knows what the people want, and he’s delivering it all in one place. I can already picture myself binge-watching “Power,” “The Expendables,” and even some of his own movies, all curated by the man himself!
50 Cent, the award-winning rap artist known for movies like “Setup” and “Freelancers,” is creating an action-packed channel on Roku under his own supervision.
50 Cent is teaming up with Lionsgate to launch a free, ad-supported channel on December 10th via The Roku Channel. This channel, known as the 50 Cent Action Channel, will showcase some of 50 Cent’s favorite films and TV shows from Lionsgate’s extensive library of over 20,000 titles, such as “The Expendables,” “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” “Rambo,” and a few movies featuring the rapper himself. In addition, this channel will air episodes of “Power,” the drama series produced by 50 Cent that has given birth to the Power Universe.
The channel plans to integrate music from 50 Cent into its programming. This will include a robbery-themed event linked to his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin'”. Shows like “Empire State”, “Reservoir Dogs”, and “Man on a Ledge” are among those that will be shown, along with an action-packed sequence inspired by his album “I Like the Way She Do It”. This female-led stunt will feature movies such as “Kill Bill: Volume 1” and “Kill Bill: Volume 2”, “The Protégé” and “Haywire”.
50 Cent stated, “Roku’s extensive presence and achievement in the free TV sector make them an ideal launch partner for 50 Cent Action. My channel, collaboratively produced with Lionsgate, will provide everything my viewers adore to watch, all in one convenient location. We’re on track to be the top choice very soon.
Jennifer Vaux, Content Acquisition and Programming Vice President at Roku, expressed her enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled about teaming up with our long-term collaborator Lionsgate and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson on this pioneering channel. With his global fame and a tremendous following, 50 Cent is a colossal figure in the entertainment industry who leaves an indelible mark on content production. The audience will be captivated by this entertaining, distinctive approach to showcasing Lionsgate’s impressive collection of action series, as well as exclusive backstage content from 50 Cent.
50 Cent is repped by IAG, Attorney Steve Savva and AKR Public Relations.
