The Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has become incredibly popular, with players investing substantial daily funds on cards. In essence, it shares some similarities with its live version, but offers simpler rules that are particularly advantageous for beginners unfamiliar with the TCG world, making it an excellent starting point for newcomers.
However, although it initially seems great, it’s not without its flaws. After the initial excitement wears off, players often find it challenging to obtain cards and become irritated when facing decks that are commonly used, which is a point of contention within the community for some time now.
Due to the current situation, various individuals have started a discussion on Reddit, offering numerous suggestions aimed at making the game more exciting. One participant expressed, “I believe it’s safe to say that we could all benefit from having additional solo missions.” This remark served as a catalyst for further debate.
Pokemon TCG Pocket players plead for more solo-focused content
They mentioned that when you have several good decks, solo missions become quite manageable, and player versus player (PvP) can feel tedious since it’s mostly about grinding for 15 experience points.
Initially, the user asserted they played the game for approximately 5-10 minutes each day. However, they expressed a readiness to invest 2-3 hours daily if more content was provided, including challenging solo missions. Remarkably, numerous other players echoed similar sentiments in their comments.
As a gamer, I completely concur. It would be fantastic if they incorporated modes for solo play, much like the TCG website from before – can’t remember its name exactly, but it was more geared towards single players. Truth be told, I’m not fond of player versus player (PvP) matches. Instead, I enjoy admiring my lovely cards and witnessing their actions against AI opponents.
One user pointed out that they’d like to constantly have an event featuring solo missions. “Right now, the five battle thanks a day and checking Wonder Picks are boring me a little bit,” they explained.
Alternatively, another user proposed that the game could incorporate a narrative mode, focusing on challenges like taking on gym leaders and other famous personalities.
Another interesting idea is a “button that makes you fight a random deck,” where you “grab a deck from a player” and essentially fight against it, as a different user pointed out.

It’s anticipated that we’ll be getting fresh cards and booster packs for the game shortly. However, whether or not the developers take heed of what’s been said previously remains to be seen with the passage of time.
