Donkey Kong Land Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch Online, But Not Donkey Kong 64

As a nostalgic gamer who grew up with the iconic characters from Rare and Nintendo, I am thrilled to see Donkey Kong Land now available on Switch Online. This game takes me back to my childhood days, where I would spend hours playing this gem on my Game Boy!

Nintendo is still drawing from developer Rare’s past works for their Switch Online service, with Donkey Kong Land being the most recent addition. Originally released in 1995 for the Game Boy, this classic game is now accessible through Switch Online.

The initial Game Boy game starring everyone’s favorite ape is called Donkey Kong Land. A timeless hit on this platform is Donkey Kong ’94, but it’s yet to join the Switch Online collection. There’s also a strong demand for Donkey Kong 64, which was created by Rare, but it hasn’t been incorporated into the subscription service either.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled to see more Rare classics joining the Nintendo Switch Online library this year! In February alone, we welcomed five timeless Rare games, including Killer Instinct and R.C. Pro-Am. The lineup expanded even further with the addition of Blast Corps on Switch Online + Expansion Pack, the premium tier for subscribers. For just $20 a year, you can enjoy a basic Nintendo Switch Online subscription, while the Expansion Pack upgrade, priced at $50 annually, offers an even richer gaming experience.

Last month, Banjo-Tooie hit Switch Online + Expansion Pack, almost three years after the original Nintendo 64 game landed on the service. Meanwhile, the Donkey Kong Country trilogy is already available on Switch Online. In January, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is set to hit Switch.
