For fifty years, *Saturday Night Live* has given us a lot of interesting stories about what happens behind the scenes – like what goes on at the after-parties and which celebrity hosts struggled to keep a straight face during the show. Recently, current cast member Chloe Fineman shared a funny story about how she accidentally frightened an intern using a prosthetic chest piece made to look like Sydney Sweeney.
Chloe Fineman discussed her work on *Saturday Night Live* during an appearance on *The View*. She highlighted the show’s current season and teased the lineup of upcoming hosts. When asked about any on-air mishaps, Fineman shared a story about a wardrobe issue that happened while she was impersonating Sydney Sweeney, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
This is a funny story! I occasionally portray Sydney Sweeney during the show. Because my natural build is different from hers – I don’t have a large bust – we had to create a special chest piece to match her appearance. It’s similar to what drag queens use to create their silhouettes.
It’s amusing that Chloe Fineman and Sydney Sweeney’s differing chest sizes became a topic of conversation when they both played Hooters waitresses in a sketch last season. Fineman actually liked wearing a prosthetic to match the look, and she explained:
Okay, so this is a bit awkward to talk about, but during a pre-shoot for something we were working on, I had a playful moment showing off my… well, let’s just say my chest enhancements. It was a silly, lighthearted thing, and honestly, I found it funny to get a reaction. The best part? Because they’re implants, it apparently doesn’t even qualify as a human resources issue – which is… something! It’s a weird story, but that’s what happened.
While it’s not overly explicit, Chloe Fineman’s impression of Sydney Sweeney in the “Wicked Auditions” sketch from Season 50 features surprisingly realistic chest padding.

It’s likely many people were surprised to see her revealing outfit, and one intern definitely got an unexpected view when he entered her dressing room. As Fineman described it:
I was getting ready in my dressing room when someone knocked. I assumed it was a friend, but it turned out to be an intern – his very first day! I wasn’t fully dressed and was wearing a small cap, so I probably looked a bit wild.
Okay, let me tell you, the image Chloe Fineman conjured up – herself dressed as Sydney Sweeney, but with a bald cap – is absolutely burned into my brain now. Seriously, it sounds… unforgettable. And the best part? She was telling me about how her intern reacted to seeing *that*. Apparently, it was a moment. Here’s how she described it…
He never came back.
Wow, that wasn’t the first-day welcome the intern was hoping for! But if he wasn’t prepared for some wild ideas during the writers’ brainstorming sessions for new *SNL* sketches, maybe it was a good learning experience after all.
Want to see who Chloe Fineman impersonates next? Keep watching *Saturday Night Live* as its 51st season goes on. This week, on October 11th, Amy Poehler is hosting and Role Model is the musical guest. Catch it Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC or stream it with Peacock.
