Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a lot to be excited about this holiday season! A new animated short will be released, and Season 2 of the Paramount+ series *Tales from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* is coming soon. This series offers a fresh, exciting take on the classic franchise, as seen in its first season in 2024. While the next full movie, a sequel to *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem*, isn’t due until 2027, it’s a great time to be a TMNT fan!
At New York Comic Con, Paramount+ unveiled the first trailer for Season 2 of *Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*. The trailer hints at a powerful new villain called “Mutant Omega” and shows the Turtles battling a fresh wave of mutants. Surprisingly, the trailer also features the brothers fighting their former friends Bebop and Rocksteady, who had become close allies by the end of the movie *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem*. Season 2 is scheduled to stream on Paramount+ in December 2025. You can watch the trailer below.
A Very Turtle Holiday Season
Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have another project to anticipate in December 2025: a new film following the events of *Mutant Mayhem*. In addition to the sequel, a short film called *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey* will premiere in theaters on December 19th, playing before *The SpongeBob Movie: The Search for SquarePants*. This short finds the Turtles journeying to New Jersey to stop a company that’s illegally making and selling fake Turtle merchandise.
It’s currently unknown if the second season of *Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* will be released before or after the *Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey* short film hits theaters, or if the two will have any story connections. Releasing the new season beforehand could generate excitement for the short, but waiting until after – perhaps during winter school breaks in late December and early January – might be better. Regardless, fans can expect a lot of Ninja Turtles content during the holidays.
These projects were initially created to bridge the gap between the *Mutant Mayhem* movie and its follow-up, which was moved from an October 2026 release to September 2027. It remains to be seen if any *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* shorts or a new season of *Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* will be released in 2026 or early 2027 to build anticipation for the sequel, or if there will be a longer wait before the Turtles face Shredder.
