UN warned Earth needs a “contingency plan” to combat alien threat amid 3I/ATLAS theories

Okay, so I’m reading that people are seriously asking the UN to start prepping for… aliens? Like, a real alien invasion? Apparently, they think it’s something we need to actually *plan* for, which is wild. I always figured if aliens showed up, it’d be more of a ‘react and panic’ situation, but it sounds like some folks want a strategy in place, just in case.

Experts are increasingly worried about 3I/ATLAS, a strange object from outside our solar system. Its appearance is highlighting how unprepared we might be if we were to encounter extraterrestrial life.

3I/ATLAS, discovered earlier this year, is just the third interstellar object ever confirmed to have traveled through our solar system. Unlike most comets and asteroids which orbit the sun, this object came from outside our solar system and will eventually head back out into deep space.

The object’s unusual glow and fast spinning have led to speculation that it isn’t a natural phenomenon. Some believe it produces its own light, instead of just reflecting sunlight, which raises the possibility that it has an onboard power source or a way to move itself.

NASA believes the object is a comet, but Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb thinks there’s a 40% possibility it could be artificial – possibly alien technology. Loeb and Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna have also suggested the object might release smaller probes that could travel to Earth.

Earth urged to prepare for possible alien threats following 3I/ATLAS hysteria

Speaking with TopMob, Loeb warned that Earth has no plan for a real alien encounter at the moment.

According to Harvard professor Avi Loeb, there are currently no established procedures for handling the discovery of working alien technology close to Earth. He explained that finding such a device is an urgent matter, as it could potentially represent an immediate danger – like someone walking into your home.

Back in 2005, the U.S. Congress asked NASA to find 90% of all large asteroids – those bigger than 140 meters across, about the size of a football field – that could potentially hit Earth. But dealing with potential threats from extraterrestrial technology is far more uncertain, and we currently have no plan for how to search for or react to such a situation.

NASA has reportedly considered using nuclear explosions to deflect a large asteroid with a potential, though unlikely, impact with the moon in 2032.

Loeb has sent a report to the United Nations recommending the formation of a global team to study possible dangers from objects coming from outside our solar system. He argues that countries need to work together proactively, before a potential threat arises.

Loeb also proposed a system to scan the entire sky. He believed that constructing powerful observatories in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres would significantly improve our ability to identify and learn about any potential alien technology heading towards Earth.

Once we confirm contact with extraterrestrial technology, funding will need to increase dramatically – potentially by a thousand times the current amount, roughly equivalent to the entire global military spending. This is because discovering alien technology would have huge consequences for the world’s economy.

Even if no threat emerges, he argued, the scientific benefits would be enormous.

Alien panic grows

Even though NASA says everything is fine, Loeb believes the real problem is that we haven’t prepared for the possibility of discovering something unusual, more so than any secret keeping.

He told TopMob that he thinks the recent pause in NASA releasing data, caused by the government shutdown, isn’t a sign of alien life, but simply a result of poor decision-making here on Earth.

This warning follows recent reports of possible alien discoveries. NASA just shared what they believe is the most compelling evidence to date suggesting that life once existed on Mars.

Dr. Max Rempel, a molecular biologist with a doctorate from the Institute of Gene Biology in Moscow, says he’s discovered DNA that doesn’t appear to be human in people who report being abducted. It’s important to note that this research hasn’t been checked by other scientists yet.

The unusual object 3I/ATLAS is at the center of a growing discussion about how humanity should react if we ever make contact with extraterrestrial life. Loeb and other scientists believe we shouldn’t wait for definitive proof before preparing, as the stakes are too high.

Regardless of whether the asteroid 3I/ATLAS turns out to be a typical comet or poses a greater threat, it highlights a critical issue: we don’t have a way to protect Earth if a catastrophic event like the one depicted in the movie *Independence Day* were to happen.
