Alex discovered she had a long-lost daughter, Billie, and ultimately sacrificed herself to seal a dangerous portal to a dark, magical dimension. An evil wizard opened the portal, and the only way to close it was from *inside* that hellish place. Talk about a downer.
Don’t worry, getting stuck in another dimension is a common trope in fantasy stories! Think of it like Alex Russo from *Wizards of Waverly Place* – she got a similar storyline to Angel in *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* Season 2, thankfully avoiding the fate of Cordelia Chase, whose character was written off due to a real-life situation with the actress. The show ends with Billie and her brother Justin promising to find SelGo eventually, perhaps after her honeymoon with Benny Blanco.
