Digimon Story: Time Stranger has lots of optional missions. Most are quick and easy to finish with helpful map markers, but a handful of the later missions are more challenging and take more effort.

One example is the side quest called Silent Envy, which you unlock by exploring the modern, real-world area before facing the final boss.

For this task, Dr. Simmons needs you to search all over Tokyo for Kuramon to find Kuga’s Core Dumps. Unlike most side missions, this one doesn’t show you where to go on the map.

As a huge Digimon fan, I’ve been exploring Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and let me tell you, finding all of Dr. Kuga’s Core Dumps can be a real pain! The game does an amazing job bringing Shinjuku to life, but it’s easy to get lost. So, I decided to put together a guide to show you exactly where to find them all, hopefully making your playthrough a little smoother.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #1

Shinjuku: Kabukicho, Theater Square

Since I’m familiar with this place, I can help get you started, but you can explore however you want. Right next to Locomon, you’ll find a Kuramon. From there, head south.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #2

Higashi-Shinjuku: Koshu-Kaido Intersection

This Kuramon is right in the middle of the map. Show no mercy. Keep going south.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #3

Higashi-Shinjuku: Vision Square

You’ll find it right in the middle of Vision Square. Gently hit it with your Mega+ Digimon – just a light tap! Then, go to the right and enter the Underground Town.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #4

Shinjuku Underground Town: Subroad

You can find another Kuramon at the small shopping mall close to the Shinjuku subway. After that, go down to the station.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #5

Marunonaka Line: Shinjuku Station

Here in this area, you’ll encounter a Digimon that’s about to disappear. Go back to the Underground Town and leave through the eastern exit.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #6

Shinjuku Underground: Promenade

Okay, so I just found out there’s a Kuramon hanging around by the staircase on the west side. Once I take care of it, I need to head back out through the east exit again. Got it!

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #7

Shinjuku Station: East Gate

There’s another Kuramon near the subway. Defeat it, then take the train to quickly travel to the Seibu-Shinjuku: Overbridge East station.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #8

Seibu-Shinjuku: Overbridge Intersection

You’ll find another Core Dump inside the tunnel. Now head north to a familiar place.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #9

Wall of Hope

It’s amazing to be back where our journey started! Now, you’ll find a sad, lost Kuramon hiding by the Wall of Hope. Once you’ve dealt with it, head back to the Intersection and take a taxi to the shopping area in Shinjuku.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #10

Shinjuku: East Shopping District

A small, oblivious Kuramon will cheerfully bounce right up to your door. Once it’s done its business, go around to the alley behind your house.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #11

Shinjuku: A Certain Back Alley

Your target is located in the northeast corner of the alley. Once you’ve confirmed their location, let’s order an Uber – we’re heading to Akihabara to buy action figures.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #12

Akihabara Station: Electric Town South Exit

You’ll find the digital enemy at the end of the main street. Once you defeat it, head through the north exit to reach the back alleys of Akihabara.

Dr. Kuga’s Core Dump #13

Akihabara: A Certain Back Alley

The Kuramon will be hiding in a corner along the main street.

That concludes the final step. Dr. Simmons will contact you shortly to let you know she needs a moment to verify everything. We’re not sure if you need to wait for her confirmation before going to the In-Between Theater, or if you can go there immediately.

Try going there, and if the mission doesn’t complete, wait about 30 minutes.

Silent Envy Rewards

If you locate all of Dr. Kuga’s Core Dumps and finish the Silent Envy side quest, you’ll earn money and anomaly points, as well as a new item.

  • 10,000 Reward Money
  • 150 Anomaly Points
  • Dr. Kuga’s Envy equipment (INT +300 / SPI +300 — Recovers SP equal to 5% of physical damage taken)
  • x3 Courage Point III

Dr. Kuga’s Envy is a really good item. It works best when equipped to a Digimon that uses magic. It also gives a great boost to SP recovery, which is super helpful when tackling tough Outer Dungeons.
