Marvel Studios Releases New Blade Teaser Video Amid Movie Delays

Despite ongoing delays with the *Blade* movie at Marvel Studios, a short teaser trailer was recently released highlighting Blade and his latest appearance within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many fans are eager to see Mahershala Ali take on the role, as he was announced as the lead for his own *Blade* film some time ago. Interestingly, the Blade character has already appeared several times in MCU projects scheduled for release in 2025.

Marvel Studios just released a short, 22-second trailer for their upcoming series, Marvel Zombies, putting the character Blade in the spotlight. The trailer showcased famous scenes featuring Blade from the original animated show.

Although the Blade character in *Marvel Zombies* is voiced by Todd Williams instead of Ali, his appearance still closely matches Ali’s portrayal. A recent teaser offered detailed looks at this version of Blade, specifically focusing on his striking white eyes.

The character Blade in the new Marvel Zombies series is being called Blade Knight, both in the show itself and in posts about the teaser. This is because, like Moon Knight, he’s an avatar of the god Khonshu – a connection highlighted by his white eyes. The released footage showed a clear look at Blade Knight’s costume, which shares a lot of design elements with Moon Knight’s.

The trailer for Blade showed a memorable image of his sword reflecting Khonshu, the deity he serves. Interestingly, this same visual—a reflection in Blade’s sword—originally appeared in the trailer for *Marvel Zombies*.

As a huge Marvel fan, I loved the quick Blade Knight teaser! They definitely gave us some action, but I really appreciated that they also took the time to *show* us what Blade looks like – those still shots of the costume were fantastic. And it’s great to see they’re sticking with Mahershala Ali’s take on the character, he looks perfect!

I was really excited by the Marvel Zombies teaser, and it definitely didn’t skimp on the action! One sequence that particularly stood out was Blade taking on a zombified Ghost. It gave us a great look at his costume – especially that awesome mask – and a glimpse of some of his Moon Knight gear, like those cool Crescent Blades.

Even while transformed into Blade Knight and serving as Khonshu’s avatar, Blade retains some of his classic traits in *Marvel Zombies*, most notably his distinctive fangs – the teeth of a vampire.

The Disney+ series *Marvel Zombies* is a big hit, exceeding even the high expectations Marvel Studios and Disney had for it as a spin-off of *What If…?*

This show features popular Marvel heroes fighting against zombie versions of their friends and foes, with returning stars like Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, and Hailee Steinfeld.

Will Mahershala Ali’s Blade Ever Be Seen in Live-Action in the MCU?

The *Blade* movie at Marvel Studios has faced more challenges getting started than any other project. While it’s still officially in development, its chances of actually being released seem to diminish with each passing day.

Despite a rocky development process, the Blade character is actually appearing in two Marvel Cinematic Universe projects slated for 2025: a cameo by Wesley Snipes in *Deadpool & Wolverine*, and a role in *Marvel Zombies*.

Marvel Studios is committed to including Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they still plan for Mahershala Ali to play the role. The fact that Ali’s likeness was used for the Blade character in *Marvel Zombies* shows they’re continuing to move forward with him as the actor for the part.

Many fans are still hoping to see Blade join the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon. Despite recent changes, Marvel Studios appears determined to eventually release a live-action Blade movie. If that doesn’t happen, it would be surprising if the character didn’t appear in another live-action project elsewhere.
