System Shock 2 (1999) is being delisted on October 10 for PC for standalone purchases

Nightdive Studios is removing the original 1999 version of System Shock 2 from sale as a separate purchase. However, anyone who buys or already owns the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will still have access to the original game.

Starting October 10th, the original System Shock 2 (from 1999) will no longer be sold separately. If you want to buy it after that date, you’ll need to purchase the remastered version. It’s still available on Steam for a short time, but will soon be removed as a standalone purchase. Don’t worry if you already own the original – you’ll still be able to download and play it from your library.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is out now on PC (through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The original System Shock 2 (released in 1999) will no longer be available for purchase on PC after October 10, 2025. If you already own the game, you’ll still be able to download and play it. However, new players won’t be able to buy it on its own.

When the original version is removed from sale, it will be included with the purchase of the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. This means anyone who owns or buys the Remaster will have access to both versions of the game.
