Fresh 3I/ATLAS images from Mars add fuel to alien spacecraft theories

Recent images of the unusual space object 3I/ATLAS, captured from Mars, have sparked renewed speculation that it might be a craft of extraterrestrial origin.

Okay, so I was checking out the latest images from the Perseverance rover on Mars, and you won’t believe what it caught! There’s this super bright, tube-shaped thing zooming across the sky, and a lot of people are saying it could be proof of alien tech. Apparently, this Harvard astrophysicist, Avi Loeb, has been suggesting something like this for a while – that we might have found an actual extraterrestrial probe. It’s pretty wild!

Loeb soon proposed a more straightforward explanation. He suggested the long, ship-like appearance was probably created by the rover’s camera combining many images taken over about ten minutes.

Loeb explained that the rover’s camera settings distorted the object’s shape, making it appear stretched instead of its probable spherical form. However, this hasn’t stopped people from speculating; in fact, it’s fueled the belief on social media that the object might be technology from another world.

NASA’s Perseverance rover on Mars recently captured an image of comet 3I/ATLAS. The photo was taken on October 4, 2025 (the 1643rd Martian day of the mission) using the rover’s Right Navigation Camera, which helps with driving. This camera is positioned high on the rover’s mast.

Mars images of 3I/ATLAS spark new alien craft theories

Okay, so I was reading about that comet, 3I/ATLAS, and this scientist, Dr. Horace Drew – he used to work at a big research org in Australia – thinks the green glow isn’t just normal comet stuff. He’s suggesting it might be a coating of nickel! His idea is that maybe aliens use nickel to coat their spaceships, kind of like how we do it here on Earth. It’s a wild theory, but it definitely makes you think!

Avi Loeb, known for his theory that the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS might have sent a signal to Earth years ago, is eagerly awaiting new, detailed images of Mars taken by the HiRISE camera. He believes these images could show even more surprising discoveries.

If the photos of comet 3I/ATLAS appear stretched or elongated (like in the pictures taken by an Earth-based amateur astronomer), we could combine several of those images to create a color picture similar to what the Mars Rover might see. This wouldn’t work if the comet appeared as a simple, round shape.

These recent images appear shortly after comet 3I/ATLAS unexpectedly withstood a powerful solar flare, leading to speculation about its unusual resilience and whether it might be artificial. However, NASA continues to insist that the object is simply a natural comet traveling through our solar system, and not an alien spacecraft.

It’s noteworthy that this timing aligns with other significant findings suggesting the possibility of life beyond Earth. NASA, for example, has recently announced potential signs of past life on Mars.

The agency is suggesting using nuclear weapons to destroy a large asteroid that could potentially wipe out a city. Some believe this is a first step in preparing defenses against threats from space.

The discussion surrounding 3I/ATLAS is still very active, just like the comet itself as it travels through space.
