Okay, so it’s official: Euphoria is done. I was pretty shocked! Rue’s storyline wrapped up tragically, Ali’s off living a completely different life with some folks in the country, and Cassie is…still stuck in that intensely carpeted house. Sam Levinson, the show’s creator, has confirmed to the New York Times that season three, with its final episode “In God We Trust,” really is the end. No more Euphoria High reunions, sadly. It feels a little abrupt, but it’s over.
It feels like the right time to end the show. It’s hard to imagine who would tell the story going forward. While Euphoria could follow the example of shows like Desperate Housewives and have Zendaya narrate what happened after her character’s story ended, that doesn’t quite fit the show’s style. Plus, there have been hints for a while that this was the plan. At the season three premiere, creator Sam Levinson stated he didn’t have any plans for a fourth season. In fact, a recent article in The Hollywood Reporter about Alexa Demie even referred to the last episode, “In God We Trust,” as the series finale.
