Grayscale Says Ethereum, Solana and Two Additional Blockchains Poised To Benefit From Clarity Act

According to the leading digital asset investment platform, institutional investors will likely focus on four blockchain networks first, as regulations become clearer.

As an analyst, I’m following Grayscale’s latest report closely, and they’re predicting that upcoming regulations will be a major catalyst for growth in the digital asset space. Specifically, they believe things like the Clarity Act – which seeks to create a clear framework for classifying digital assets – and guidance from the SEC will unlock new opportunities in areas like tokenized assets and decentralized finance (DeFi).

According to the firm, this advancement will likely help major players in the tokenized asset and DeFi spaces, including Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and the Canton Network. These platforms are leaders in areas like smart contracts, network performance, Web3 technology, and privacy.

The growing popularity of digital assets has the potential to benefit the entire industry. Currently, though, most activity is concentrated on a few leading blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, and Canton Network. We expect institutional investors to focus on these established networks initially.

Grayscale believes that regulatory clarity will likely help not only Bitcoin but also other blockchains. This includes versatile networks like Avalanche, Ethereum’s layer-2 solutions such as Base and Arbitrum, specialized blockchains like Hyperliquid, and networks focused on stablecoins, like Tron.

Despite not having built-in smart contract capabilities and a less developed layer-2 network compared to some other blockchains, the firm believes Bitcoin will likely still see gains.

We believe this will also be helped by clearer rules, as it’s currently the most secure asset and a top choice for backing financial agreements.
