Hatsune Miku rhythm game devs issue warning to fans over toxic community behavior

The creators of a well-loved Hatsune Miku game have asked fans to stop bullying and arguing with each other, both online and while playing the game, due to recent problems within the player community.

Hatsune Miku is often associated with uplifting themes like love and friendship, and energetic music. She’s also known for a huge number of collaborations, ranging from the quirky – like a Miku-themed fishing rod and leek-shaped headphones – to the unexpected, such as custom car designs for video games.

So, everyone’s been super hyped about this new character with the twin tails, but it turns out things have gotten a little rough in the Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! community. The developers actually had to put out a warning about people being toxic to each other, which is a bummer.

Hatsune Miku says no to cyberbullying!

On May 27th, the development team issued a detailed statement about negative behaviors within the community, and it’s disheartening to think about how this would affect Miku. The statement covered issues like bullying in multiplayer games, information leaks, harmful online conduct, and even arguments between fans over different characters.

Things are really heating up in the Hatsune Miku rhythm game community, and even the virtual characters themselves are getting caught in the drama.

Many people who participate in Colorful Stage! have a favorite character or group they really enjoy. It can be upsetting to see negative comments about those characters, or to be criticized for liking them.
