We’ve put together a list of our favorite Small Forward builds for players in NBA 2K26’s MyCAREER mode. While there are many MyPLAYER Templates based on real players, many fans prefer to design their own custom build. So, we’ve highlighted three different Small Forward builds to help you create your next NBA superstar.
What Are The Best Small Forward Builds To Use in NBA 2K26?
#1 – Defensive
- Height: 6’7″
- Weight: 222 lbs
- Wingspan: 7’1″
In my opinion, a Small Forward needs to be a strong defender who can also grab rebounds consistently, and have reasonably good shooting ability. This player build should be effective as long as you don’t rely heavily on three-point shots.
You can earn 27 badges at the Gold Tier level or above, with the possibility of unlocking 15 prestigious Legend Badges. This gives you many different ways to boost how well you perform.
Naturally, there’s a trade-off – you’ll lose a bit in strength and shooting. However, a maximum Mid-Range shot rating of 87 should be sufficient if you consistently get on the green. You also have the option to adjust the Wingspan to boost your three-point shooting ability, if desired. Just remember that changing the Wingspan might impact the badges you can earn.
Generally speaking, this is my top build recommendation. I like Small Forwards to excel at defense rather than being the primary scorers on the team. If your Point Guard, Shooting Guard, and possibly your Center are already strong players, you don’t necessarily need another player focused on scoring. However, we’ve included a few more build options below for your consideration.
#2 – Offense Wins Championships
- Height: 6’5″
- Weight: 230 lbs
- Wingspan 6’10”
If you’d like a build focused on aggression rather than powerful dunks, this one might be a good fit. Despite being shorter, you can still achieve a 98 Vertical and 90 Strength. Plus, this build improves your ball handling, speed both with and without the ball, stealing ability, and three-point shooting. Learn more about maximizing these attributes.
However, the biggest issue here is the 71 maximum Block attribute, combined with the 83 maximum Interior Defense. Generally, I wouldn’t suggest sacrificing your defensive abilities to improve your shooting skills.
However, you actually have a good collection of badges – 31 in total that are Gold Tier or better (plus five Silver and one Bronze), and that really helps. Considering everything, the benefits of this build are greater than the drawbacks.
But depending on what mode you play (Online, Arena), you may want to be more aggressive. So while I
#3 – Rebound-Badge King
- Height: 6’8″
- Weight: 237 lbs
- Wingspan: 6’10”
Finally, this version of the build focuses on rebounding, player badges, and shooting ability, rather than speed, agility, and jumping height. In general, this is a build designed to support the team by holding onto the ball, while still being a reliable shooter.
The main thing to be aware of is that ball handling is capped at 86, which might not appeal to all players in online modes. However, your strong scoring abilities could make up for this in those same online modes, creating a reasonable trade-off.
Additionally, you’ll unlock 30 badges, many of which could be at the Gold tier or even higher. This means you’ll have plenty of skills to utilize. You can also customize your character by changing the weight or wingspan to fine-tune your attributes.
