A pizza place in Philadelphia is getting a lot of attention online for selling a very expensive slice – it costs $55 and includes caviar, served on a gold plate.

Okay, so picture this: you’re looking at a pizza, right? And the last thing you’d think to put on it is caviar. Seriously, who thinks that? But I’ve been learning that sometimes the strangest food combinations actually turn out amazing. It’s about being open to trying new things, even if they sound totally wild at first!

Look, if people are okay with pineapple on pizza – and I think they are! – and Pizza Hut actually made a drinkable pizza, then I really don’t see why caviar couldn’t work as a pizza topping. It’s not that crazy when you think about it.

$55 caviar pizza packs a high price

The restaurant announced on Instagram that its new “Caviar Pizza” begins with a white pizza base made with Italian cheeses. It’s then generously topped with a full ounce of golden osetra caviar from Caviar XS.

These expensive golden caviar pearls are considered the highest quality available. Caviar XS describes their flavor as wonderfully creamy and buttery, enhancing any meal they’re added to.
